Our Bed & Breakfast CheRiedel is located in a village on the southern slopes of the Black Mountains, overlooking the vineyards of the Minervois area and with the Pyrenees in the background. The house, which was built in 1900, has a quiet location on the outskirts of the village, on a street that becomes so narrow that through traffic is excluded. We have renovated the house into a modern comfort but kept the details from the turn of the century, such as the floor and ceiling beams.

Individually decorated rooms and bathrooms, home-cooked meals in a family environment with international cuisine, transfers from Béziers airport or nearby train stations, assistance with car hire, lockable garage for motorbikes and bicycles and the possibility of a pit stop for cyclists, picnic basket with French goodies and tips on many nice excursion destinations.
We speak Swedish, English, German, French and Hungarian.
CheRiedel is 40 minutes from the beautiful Mediterranean beaches, 10 minutes by car to Lac de Jouarres, 90 minutes from the Pyrenees and three hours from Barcelona. In between are countless small villages with cozy market stalls such as the Tuesday market in Olonzac or the market stall in Saint Chinian. Cities with interesting architecture, waterways that change in emerald green, the curiosity of Lauriole, archaeological remains and giant caves, well worth a visit.
Whether you are interested in outdoor life, culture, history, architecture, French food & wine or sun & bathing, the area has a lot to offer.
Take a trip to the historic area's many castles and castles! Carcassonne with its double city walls is very well preserved or to the four castle ruins of Lastours in the heart of Cathar country.
The village of Montolieu, also called the village of the bookhas many book antiques and art exhibitions. Jazz evenings are organized here in July and August.
The Abbey de Fontfroidehas a very inviting cloister garden as well as an impressive architecture.
Lagrasse is rated as one of the most beautiful villages in France. An aged stone bridge leads to Lagrasse's majestic monastery.
Discover Le Somailwhich is an old port with timeless charm, built on the Canal du Midi and classified by UNESCO as a historical monument. Its bookstore is a work of art in itself and houses around 50,000 book titles.
Narbonne is known, among other things, for its seaside resort and the mighty Gothic cathedral Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur as well as several fine museums.
We suggest a number of cycling tours of varying length and degree of difficulty. For cyclists, we arrange pit stops with rehydration and a picnic. The bikes can be stored in the garage.
Our B & B is located 10 minutes by car from the bathing lake Lac de Jouarres. Enjoy the lake shore and the shady pine forest, near the port of Port Minervois (Homps) on the banks of the Canal du Midi. Here you can rent a canoe/kayak, fish and walk the hiking trail around the lake. A dip in one of the nice bathing spots on the river Cesse, 10 km from Azillanet, is also recommended.
